Decision Making in Translation: Translator’s Strategies and Decision Models for Rich Points in Titles

Recent developments regarding translation competence have led to the acknowledgement of strategic role decision making in process. Researchers different science fields always seen problem-solving as an intrinsic part any cognitive activity. The specific character is a challenging area research which primarily associated with essence problem and strategies solve it. paper addresses aim classifying them proposing clusters models for problematic text elements collectively called Rich Points. classification was verified on corpus 160 newspaper titles articles published between July August 2020 translated into Russian. correlation source target (TT) Point patterns afforded ground set models. Quantitative assessment Points frequency revealed tendency eliminate TT. However, productivity rate it due translators’ loyalty towards factual information. results suggest that although problems involve meaning disintegration, they can demonstrate patternlike nature, pattern recognition seems form core
